Conte was seen screaming in the face of fourth official Lee Mason and apologised for his actions in the aftermath of Chelsea’s win.

‘The problem is I was frustrated because the opponents were wasting time,’ he explained after Antonio Rudiger secured three points for Chelsea with the only goal of the game in the 55th minute.

‘I tried to tell this to the fourth official not only once but a few times.

‘I don’t know if it was fair [to be sent off] but we have to respect this decision.
